The speediest flights to Bali from Europe, the USA and Australia

Article by Matt Verbaan

There are numerous flights to Bali and depending on where you are coming from it can take just a couple of hours or almost a tour around the world.

For those travellers coming from the USA it must be one hell of a flight since it takes almost 24 hours to get to this beautiful island.

As you might have expected already there are unfortunately no direct flights to Bali from any of the airports in the USA. If you travel from New York the best option is to fly to Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific or American Airlines and then transfer on a flight with Hong Kong Express Airways straight to Bali. This ‘fast’ option will take approximately 22 h 15 minutes.

From San Francisco it takes surprisingly 21 hours with Delta Air Lines (operated by China Airlines) where you have to make a stop-over at Taipei before continuing your journey to Bali with China Airlines.

Flights to Bali from Los Angeles go through Singapore if you’re looking for the fastest option. It will take you 21 h 35 minutes to fly to Bali. Flights from Los Angeles to Singapore are operated by Singapore Airlines and the last stretch is operated by Garuda Indonesia.

Unfortunately there are no direct flights from Europe to Bali either. If you’re coming from Amsterdam the fastest option for you is to take KLM to Kuala Lumpur and then transfer here on an AirAsia flight to Bali. Total flight time is approximately 16 h 25 minutes.

London Heathrow flights to Bali are operated by British Airways to Singapore from where Singapore Airlines flies the last stretch to Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, Bali. This is also the fastest option and will take you around 16 h 30 minutes.

The best option to take from Frankfurt am Main airport is to fly with Lufthansa or Singapore Airlines to Singapore with a connecting flight to Bali. This will take 16 h 20 minutes. For flights from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Bali it’s the same; take Singapore Airlines and it will save you lots of time.

Luckily for the Australians there are direct flights to Bali from the following Australian cities; Darwin with flights operated by Airnorth, Qantas and Garuda Indonesia (2h 30), Perth with flights operated by Ozjet, Qantas and Garuda Indonesia (3 h 35), Melbourne with flights operated by Jetstar, Qantas and Garuda Indonesia.(6hours)From Sydney there are also direct flights operated by Jetstar and Qantas and the fastest flying time is 6 h 25 minutes.

Have a save trip and see you on the beautiful island of Bali!
