Bali and Orlando – Villa Rentals

Article by Stella Perkins

Vacations are big business the world over. No matter where you live, you like to get away from there and experience life somewhere else, with different foods, cultures, locations, attractions, and colorful, interesting people. Vacations are meant to be enjoyed, but they don’t have to be expensive. An example of this is that you can choose to stay in a villa rather than a high priced hotel.

Finding the right accommodations for vacation destinations can be tricky. Unless you’ve been there before, you can’t really tell from the online photos and descriptions if the place you’re looking to rent is actually everything it says it is, and if it’s worth the price their asking. There could be a picture of a private swimming pool in the online photo gallery, but in reality, you have to share the pool with 25 other guests who all like to go skinny dipping. Or, it can list room service as one of the included amenities, but in reality room service consists of a laundry basket left outside your door with a note that reads: “For bedding only”.

Two of the most popular vacation destinations in recent years have been Orlando, Florida in the United States, and Bali, an island in Indonesia, a collection of islands in Southeast Asia.

Both of these locations have much to offer the vacationer or tourist, but which location should you choose for your vacation villa rental, Orlando villa rentals or Bali villa rentals?

Orlando Villa RentalsOrlando is a beautiful town with a lot to offer the vacationer and tourist. Not only is it home to The Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, Wild Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon, and the whole Universal brand of parks, it is also a great place to shop, explore, stay and build memories. Orlando villa rentals are almost everywhere in Orlando so feel free to take your time and choose wisely. There are villas close to all the attractions, and there are villas set away from it all. One of the downsides to staying and playing in Orlando is that it’s landlocked and not relatively close to the beach. That’s not a problem in Bali.

Bali Villa RentalsBali is an island so finding Bali villa rentals on the beach is like looking for hay in a haystack. Bali villa rentals are inexpensive despite their exotic surroundings, incredible attractions, historic tourist spots, and world class shopping districts and restaurants. Bali is the place to go when the glitter of the US isn’t as bright as the gleaming brilliance of the stars over the wide open sea.

In Bali you can rent a yacht, hire a local for forest tours, and spend hours lazing about under the Southeast Asian sun. Bali is a great place to go to get away, and Bali villa rentals allow even families or individuals on a budget to enjoy the glorious and life changing exotic island getaway. No matter which location you choose, choosing to rent a villa over reserving a hotel room will allow you to experience a different side of Orlando or Bali; a side that will leave you wanting more.

How to choose granite colour for your kitchen worktops?

Article by Kaur Bali

So, you have decided to use granite for your kitchen worktops. And are now confused which colour to choose among so many combinations and textures available. Well, I would say that the choice of granite colour is rather one of the most important design factors in any kitchen. Here are some important things to keep in mind when choosing a kitchen worktop colour for your home.

1) First of all, look out for granite warehouses around your city with a large selection. Warehouses will have full slabs of granite for you to see and thus you will be able to see all of the available colours and not just a few little samples on a board as found mostly on the retail shops.

2) Do not forget to carry a sample of your kitchen cabinet while visiting the warehouse. This would help you to choose the granite colour that compliments your kitchen cabinets, as you can hold the sample up to the granite slab as you search for ones that you like. This way you can make a choice right away if the chosen ones are is a good match for your kitchen or not.

3) Once you have decided the granite colour that works well, make sure that you are really finding it appealing and are not settling down on something that looks good but you may not like. The colour of the granite to be used in your kitchen will make a defining element of your kitchen and hence you must love it in order to live with it.

4) The colour of the floor should equally match or compliment the worktop colour. If you are building a new home or working with an existing floor, make sure to bring a colour sample of the floor tiles so as the granite goes well with that. Although the floor tiles will not be directly next to granite slabs, you still want to make sure the colours work well together.

5) Granite worktops are a great investment for your new kitchen, hence the choice of the granite colour should be an informed decision made after viewing all of the available selections.

Article by Jennifer Lewis

Are you confused, unhappy, uneasy in your life…?? Don’t know what to do and what not to…?? Then here comes the solution from Ryan Murphy’s new chick flick Eat Pray Love starring Julia Roberts, Richard Jenkins, Javier Bardem, Viola Davis and Billy Crudup. This is the movie version of Elizabeth Gilbert’s phenomenal memoir Eat Pray Love where one woman is searching for everything across Italy, India and Indonesia.

This is the story of Liz Gilbert (Julia Roberts) who is married but later realizes that she is not living the life she wants. She divorces with her husband passing through uncertainty, unhappiness, and heart broken and than finally she decides to set off on a soul searching journey around the world. Firstly she travels to Italy where she learns to be independent, make new friends and of course eat a lot. Then she is off to India where she lives in an ashram to pray and find inner peace, inner- strength and fulfillment. Lastly she fly’s down to Bali where she searches her love and becomes stable and balanced in life. This movie speaks about people trying to face doubts, fears, insecurities and that speaks to everybody. Spanning Italy, India and Bali, this self-discovery is slowly molded throughout Liz’s experiences in each country she visits. The plot is very well organized, clearly aligning one country with food, the next with religion and the last with love. Julia Roberts gives Liz a far more charismatic personality than she has in the book. She has done a fantastic job capturing even minute emotions.

Eat Pray Love opens on 7th October, 2010 and it will be a treat to watch beautiful sights, pleasant adventures, a few nice insights and a bit of romance. So get ready to drive on a soul searching journey and make your life balanced, happy and perfect.

Enjoy Ubud’s arts, crafts and culture on Bali holidays

Article by Dipika Patel

If you’re considering a holiday in Bali but want to do more than soak up some rays, a trip to Ubud should be a priority when it comes to your itinerary.

Bali is famed for its beach holiday offerings, but if you head a little further inland you’ll find a cultural hotspot in the form of the town of Ubud.

This particular area is home to some fascinating ruins dating back to the ancient Bali kingdom and should therefore be visited by anyone with a passing interest in the island’s history.

Here you can see the Tirta Empul temple, as well as the temples and museum in Pejeng, which is situated a few kilometres away.

The Goa Gajah cave – whose name translates into Elephant Cave – has an unusual demon-shaped opening and legend says that the rocky attraction was created from a fingernail belonging to a giant.

If you want to indulge your interest in historical attractions further, a trip to nearby Bedulu might be worthwhile as it is home to numerous archaeological sites.

Meanwhile, if all you want to do is relax, look into the various spas offering all manner of treatments and services that are located in the Ubud area.

Conversely, if you’re the active type, why not try a spot of white water rafting or another adrenaline-pumping pursuit? Bali is a particularly scenic island, so there’s plenty of scope for long hikes taking in some spectacular views.

If you’re interested in the local culture, make sure you check out the various dance performances on offer in Ubud.

Weekly Kecak, Legong and Barong dance shows are a fixture in Ubud, as are the Ramayana and Mahabharata ballets and concerts by the local orchestra, which uses traditional instruments.

For a wildlife-themed day trip, it might be a good idea to head to the Ubud Monkey Forest, which is a temple complex and nature reserve that houses hundreds of long-tailed macaque monkeys.

Ubud is a unique destination when it comes to Bali holidays, so make sure you don’t miss this hotbed of arts, history and culture on your trip to the Indonesian island.

Story of barong dance Bali

Article by Sarah Thomson

Dance is one of unique tradition in Bali. The lion barong is one of five traditional Barong. In Bali each region of the island has its own protective spirit for its forests and lands. Each Barong for each region is modeled after a different animal. There is a boar, a tiger, a dragon (or serpent) and the traditional lion. The lion is the popular one as it comes from the Gianyar region where Ubud (the home of tourist viewed ritual) is located. Within the calonarang, the dance drama in which the Barong appears, the barong responds to Rangda’s use of magic to control and kill her to restore balance
